The Mississippi

The river flows and I run beside it
An unmoving witness to my motion
The river flows and I stand beside it
A moving witness to my silence

The river; she sings of vagabondage
Of finding love in distant lands
Of rounded pebbles and alluvial flows
And cycles of birth on either shore

The river sings with a cadence ineffable
Of the tranquility of a roving life
The river soothes this oft querulous child
And a rover I know sings back to her

`Vasudhaiva kutumbakam', she murmurs
`Vasudhaiva kutumbakam', I concur
I open my heart to the universe
The universe opens its mind to me.

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, that fit in brilliantly. Very nice poem!

It's funny how it takes a certain threshold level of tranquility and satisfaction to appreciate a thought.. and I have neither now :-(
